Sentosa Barbossa Pt.2 @ 10:59 PM

I'm going to continue yesterday's Sentosa Barbossa entry.

This is a shot of the jungle exhibit. Really, i've got a mouthful to say about the jungle part. The 'jungle' wasn't all bright and cheery, but it was rather dark. That's why it looks unreal in a picture. One of my friends saw a snake's tail dangling out of the shrubs, and she stepped on it. Guess What? There was a hissing sound! We nearly burst laughing. Then, she spotted a monkey tail and pulled that. You all know what happened next. Then, DK and I saw this Indian lady with a basket full of fruits. DK took a fruit out of her basket and dropped it back again. To our surprise, the lady started cursing in Tamil at us!!! as we went on,DK (refer to previous post) held on to my arm cos she was so afraid of the damned dark. I couldn't help but feel a little heebie-jeebiesh myself.

This is a picture of the people who signed the Treaty (if i'm not wrong) between Malaya and S'pore. If I've racked my brains well enough, the man in yellow is the Temenggong, right? I suck at Social Studies, especially the 'Treaty' aspect. And again, it was scary cos it's not everyday you get to see realistic-looking people just pose dead for you in dim lighting. I've no idea what sense to make of that.
my poor friend, Hatsumomo, was so irritated cos the flash on her camera wasn't working that time. Flashes are so disobedient.

And yes, don't blame it on my photography skills, but the lighting was horrible for taking pictures and stuff. Even worse for videos. I took ltos of vids but I couldn't add them in here, it wasn't worth it, given the damned lighting.

This is an exhibit of the early settlers in/of Singapore. It shows their harsh, living conditions years ago. Here we are, in cosmopolitan Singapore, arguing like hell over en-bloc sales and real estate, but these people were just looking at the mess they lived in and thinking ,"There's no choice. This is my life."

Meet DK, the new Tarzan. (cue music: aiy-yee-ya-yee-yo!!)

This girl was watching a miniature Chinese opera. And beside the opera stage was this uber-old-school sign.

Wait a minute. stomach AFFECTIONS?

It's nice to know that they still keep these old-school television sets. At that time, they were showing a programme of MM Lee announcing the separation of S'pore and Malaya. (cue: Mari kita rakyat..) This doesn't show how unpatriotic i am. It was kinda nostalgic to watch the programme. Saras, DK, and Hatsumomo were greatly uninterested, while I was happily snapping away like a chipmunk on drugs. Trust me, that scenario has replayed itself countless times in my life.

This was the only decent picture of a wedding I could find. The Malay wedding and Chinese wedding wasn't clear, but i took vids. You know, the 'people' made us freak out. It was like, carrying a time bomb with you, and you don't know when it's gonna explode or smth. I'm talking about the heart.

(top left)can you see construction work going on, if you peer hard enough? That work is for the new Integrated IRs!! Well, it's not moral to reveal anything about it, but i saw one bunch of roads which were interlocked, and some cars were being test-driven on it, in the middle of the construction site. The site stretches along a great distance, and it's tentatively titled Resorts World, as you can see in the picture.

The other two pictures were taken from the bus on our way home.

(left)hatsumomo and myself (right)Jojo and Cat. This was taken in school, and Cat accidentally shut her eyes, in case you're wondering.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So after viewing the exhibits, we went to have a break. Hatsumomo ordered this giant Belgian Chocolate Latte, and it was a Giant Chocolate Chip Muffin at $2.70. Well, unless you've got a big stomach (and a big appetite to go along with it), don't buy the muffin. It's Giant as its' name suggests, and the chocolate chips are melted and tasty.
So, I hope you've enhoyed viewing the photos and reading the captions. Keep tagging, and enjoy your holidays. :)
