just had my lunch.

Yesterday - 15/08/08

Went to WM with Dad. First we went to the library, and many other places. Finally, I went to Harvey.N, which sold U.M.PCs, a.k.a Ultra-Mobile Portable Computers, if i'm not wrong. They are the smaller versions of laptops.

I already saw one of them, when I went to catch TDK with Xinyi. And for about a couple of weeks I had been whining on about UMPCs, and narrowing down choices and all. I must say, i was torn between the Acer ---- and HP Mini-note 2133. I mean, the HP was too heavy, over 1kg, i think.

Really, visuals and music can really take in a person. I viewed the videos on the official HP Mini-note 2133, and it was so stylish! I nearly thought of getting it. See what you think. and make sure you click 'Skip Intro', and then the three slides. Gasp. especially the first slide from the right shows you how small the hp mini-note is. and the middle one with the woman. you can even choose your skin. oh heck, view all. the first one from right lets you view the UMPC 360degrees.

But when I saw it at the store and compared it against the Acer ----, i immediately changed my mind. for one, the HP doesn't have bluetooth, but it costs nearly a thousand dollars! i'd rather buy a not-so-well-known brand that has bluetooth and costs a thousand dollars.

So, don't believe everything you see on the net. Besides, when you see the HP mini-note on the web, you can't see its hinges. But when you see it in reality, the hinges look so damn obvious and 'EXTRA'.

The best seller at Harv.N was the Asus EE PC. I didn't know what to say. My first impression of

The Acer--- has bluetooth and runs on two OSes - Linux and XP. The XP version costs $200 more than the Linux version, but it's no big deal. Besides it looks better than the HP.

The linux version of the Acer has 8gb (say it with me - pathetic!) FLASH MEMORY (for god's sake, they only have that sort of thing on ipods!!!!! it is true, ipods have no HDD.) However, the XP version has 120GB HDD!!!!!!!!!!!!! money isn't an issue i guess. i mean, $200 for 120gb hdd memory and a lot more is so cool.
